Chocolate Smart Balance Frosting

Buttery smooth and with a strong chocolate flavor, this simple smart balance frosting recipe helps your bakers create decadently delectable desserts.


  • Vanilla extract - 1 Tbsp (s)
  • Smart Balance, slightly soften - 2 Pound
  • Chocolate syrup - 1 Cup
  • Cocoa powder - 1/4 Cup
  • Salt, kosher - 2 Tsp (s)
  • Powdered sugar - 4 Cups

  1. Place the first 2 ingredients in the mixing bowl and slowly whip using the whip attachment on a low speed.

  2. Incorporate the remainder of the ingredients 1 at a time and then increase the speed up to the next level. Scrape the sides of the bowl and continue to mix.

  3. Blend until well combined. Do not mix for an extended period of time in the mixer.

  4. Place in a clean storage container and refrigerate until needed.
